Yazd to host Iran's 2022 Fajr Int’l Theater Festival

Iran’s central province of Yazd is set to host the 40th edition of Fajr International Theater Festival (FITF).

The upcoming edition of the FITF will take place on February 3-15, 2022 in Yazd under the supervision of Hossein Mosafer-Astaneh.

The film screening event will kick off on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Imam Mohammad Baqer (AS), the fifth Imam of Shia Muslims.   

On February 15, the closing ceremony of the festival will be held at Vahdat Hall in Tehran concurrent with the occasion of the birth anniversary of Imam Ali (AS), the first Imam of Shia Muslims.

Previous year, the international competition section of the festival was not held due to a spike in coronavirus cases around the world.

This year, besides the international competition section of the 40th edition of the festival, the national competition section will be held with a total of 28 plays in participation.
